Welcome

Welcome to the Web site of the Fairfield County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. These pages and links will provide in detail how we serve the more than 700 children and adults living in Fairfield County who have mental retardation and developmental disabilities. You'll read personal stories about some of the people we support. Stories about their accomplishments. Stories that personify our mission of helping them lead fulfilling lives and meaningful contributions. Check back  periodically, because we're planning to make regular updates and make changes that will help all of our stakeholders get more out of our site...and more out of the programs and services we offer.

Our Mission

Our mission is to connect resources and create opportunities so people can lead fulfilling lives and make meaningful contributions.

Run for the Rose 5K-- Saturday, June 21 - 9 a.m.

The Run for the Rose 5K Run/Walk/Roll is scheduled for Saturday, June 21, at Forest Rose School. The course will follow scenic Fetters Run along the Lancaster Bike Trail to Fair Avenue and back. Proceeds from this year's race will benefit the Lancaster Sensory Trail, an extension of the existing bike trail that will include stations designed to stimulate the senses. Join us as we help raise money for a project that will help improve an already excellent community resource for everyone in Lancaster. Download either the Entry Brochure or the one-page registration form below:

Imagine Fairfield MRDD

Last year, Fairfield MRDD developed a five-year 2007-2011 Comprehensive Long Range Plan for the future, as well as a 2007 Quality Improvement Plan with objectives to be implemented throughout the year. While the body of the Comprehensive Long Range Plan remains the same, we've updated the appendix to reflect changes on our management team. We've also developed a new 2008 Operating Plan that includes measurable objectives we plan to accomplish this year. And we need your input during the public comment period. You can access the two plans by selecting the links below or by stopping at any of our three buildings:

Administration Building, 795 College Avenue, Lancaster, OH 43130

Forest Rose School, 1592 Granville Pike, Lancaster, OH 43130

Fairfield MRDD Opportunity Center, 4465 Coonpath Road NW, Carroll, OH 43112

If you'd like to have a copy e-mailed to you, please contact John Bosser, Community Outreach Coordinator at jbosser@fairfieldmrdd.com.

Once you've reviewed the plans, submit your written comments before February 13 to: John Bosser, Community Outreach Coordinator, Fairfield MRDD, 795 College Avenue Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or by e-mailing jbosser@fairfieldmrdd.com

You can also learn more about the plans at one of two Public Forums scheduled for Thursday, February 14, at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. at our Administration Building, 795 College Avenue, Lancaster. The public is invited, regardless of whether you've submitted written comments.
