Advocacy

The Arc of Ohio The Arc (formerly Association for Retarded Citizens of the United States) is the country's largest voluntary organization committed to the welfare of all children and adults with mental retardation and their families. The Arc is a 501 ( c) (3) charitable non-profit organization supported by contributions from the general public. The Arc, with its rich history in advocacy and services, is comprised of individuals with mental retardation, family members, professionals in the field of disability and other concerned citizens. http://www.thearcofohio.org/

Advocating Change Together (ACT) is a nonprofit disability rights organization run by and for people with developmental and other disabilities. We are committed to freedom, equality, and justice for all people with disabilities. http://www.selfadvocacy.com/

PACER Center is a nonprofit, tax exempt Minnesota statewide organization begun in 1977. PACER's mission is to improve and expand opportunities that enhance the quality of life for children and young adults with all disabilities - physical, mental, emotional, learning - and their families. The Inclusion Network The goal of the Inclusion Network is to make the Greater Cincinnati community the most livable community for people with disabilities in the United States. http://www.inclusion.org

The National Organization on Disability-NOD "Promotes the full and equal participation of America's 54 million men, women and children with disabilities in all aspects of life. N.O.D. was founded in 1982 at the conclusion of the United Nations International Year of Disabled Persons.
